Rural Veteran Homelessness

Quick post to put a policy brief out there that a VA colleague, Dorota Szymkowiak and I wrote for the VA National Center for Homelessness Among Veterans on veteran homelessness in rural areas.

The paper summarizes the little that is known about this topic, and presents some exploratory analyses we did using VA administrative data. We presented these findings at a VA webinar. The data is not strong enough to draw any clear conclusions, but does point the way for more research to look into topics such as the extent to which veterans who become homeless in rural areas migrate to cities due to the need for homeless services.

Beyond that, I invite you to read the brief.

I'm working on two blog ideas, so I'm looking forward to posting some more stuff soon. Still figuring out topics and scopes for good blog entries. Stay tuned.
